So we are sisters who are wandering the planet, one elephant step at a time!
Hi, I’m Amy the mature sister and I love to travel and experience what the world has to offer! I love taking photos of beautiful places, observing the wildlife in foreign countries and experiencing the different cultures and food from around the world!
At this moment I would like nothing more than to see more of the world. To travel as much as I have, I’ve have managed to do this whilst working full-time, saving my money and spending every bit of my annual leave on travelling and zero on wasteful days.
It first started with my dream of road tripping across America, this goal was set from a young age and once I got out of college and got a job, the saving begun and I achieved the goal!
I have now been to over 21 countries, 4 continents and countless cities and this is what I’d like to share with you.
“A person does not grow from the ground like a vine or a tree, one is not part of a plot of land. Mankind has legs so it can wander.” ― Roman Payne, The Wanderess
Hiya, my name is Raphaella Ruggiero, I am 21 years old and studying biology at the university of Bath.
Now that the basic profile facts are out the way, I can tell you my story. It may be cliché to say since I was a child I’ve been infatuated by anything and everything to do with nature, exploring and adventure. Be it taking in injured pigeons my sister and I found in the park or running around the house pretending to be a dinosaur with Attenborough commentating my every move. I’ve always had a healthy curiosity of the world that we live in, but unlike so many that let fear of the unknown, doubt or any other excuses to limit themselves, I always like to take up an opportunity, especially when it comes to travelling. This led me to backpacking down the Pacific coast of Costa Rica for a month shortly after taking my AS exams, Madagascar following my first year at university and shortly after Sri Lanka with my sister. I know I shouldn’t pick favourites but Costa Rica will always be my first and true love when it comes to all the places I’ve been. It sparked a real passion in me. My upbringing was in no way sheltered, living in North London means you get to see a superfluous amount of diversity, and coming to uni has only strengthened this, but travelling to new places, seeing new ways of life, the culture, the food, the people. Nothing can beat that feeling. Of being a part of this world where man has inhabited so many places, all it takes is meeting one person that can make your day and change who you are by just a little bit. 7 billion people in this world and there are still places that go unexplored. Never stop wandering, because although curiosity killed the cat, people often forget that satisfaction brought it back.
Based in London, Bath and Hertfordshire.
