Top 5 places to visit in Singapore

It was my first time visiting Singapore in April 2014 with two of my college friends for 4 days, this was our last stop after travelling around Thailand for 2 weeks and we wanted to squeeze in as much as we could!

We stayed in the Good Wood Park Hotel a 5 star luxury hotel, which is prime location for getting around as its a 7 minute walk to the Orchard subway station and 5km from Marina Bay Sands and it is right by the best shopping malls.

So here are the top places I would recommended you to visit;

Marina Bay Sands Hotel  Eat, drink and experience the best views in Singapore! Check out the roof top bar in the evening, make sure you dress up (we got away with maxi dresses and flat sandals).

Raffles Hotel  An elegant hotel in a circa-1887, Colonial-style building. A beautiful building and better yet the best Singapore Sling Cocktail around!

Singapore Zoo and Night Safari The world’s best rainforest zoo, which covers 28 hectares and home to 2,800 animals representing over 300 species – a few include Orangutans, Elephants and Giant Pandas!

With the first free ranging orangutan habitat and the opportunity to breakfast with the Orangutans for £35 which includes the zoo admission (Expedia.co.uk)

They also have the Night Safari, River Safari and Jurong Bird Park!

We did the night safari – bring mosquito repellent! And the zoo during the day which we got to before opening so we could see it all. Prices start from S$22.40 (£11) if brought on http://www.zoo.com.sg for one park but you can get a hopper pass for all 4 S$104 each which is roughly £50.

Universal Studios Singapore An amazing theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island.

Immerse yourself in seven different zones from Hollywood to the Lost World and experience some great rides like Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure or Transformers: The Ride, which are my favourite rides.

Tickets cost S$74 (£37) for an adult on http://www.rwsentosa.com

But we were told that it’s cheaper buying from the hotel as they include the taxi fare or Expedia.co.uk was our go to – £40 per adult with hotel pick up.

Shopping Malls

Here are just for a few options for shopping in Singapore;

The best one is ION Orchard, the futuristic beacon at the end of Orchard Road enteric int luxury shoppers inside. So if you’ve got the money this is the mall to go!

Mustafa Centre offers a unique market style shopping experience, if your looking for something different.

Far East Plaza on Orchard Road is one of Singapore’s older shopping complexes. It has around 800 retail outlets that occupy a six level mall, a lot of tourists visit here for the discounts available on items such as cameras and other electronics.
